Privacy Policy for the Race Readout app

This Privacy Policy explains how the Race Readout mobile application (“the App”) handles information. The App is developed and published by Alberto Scomparin (“we”, “us”), an individual developer.
In short: Race Readout does not collect, store, or share any personal data.
None. The App has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no registration. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information about you. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies of any kind.
The App saves a small number of preferences locally on your device only — for example your chosen lap-time format, your favourite driver, and the season you last viewed. This information never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us or anyone else, and is removed if you delete the App.
To show timing and telemetry information, the App retrieves publicly available motorsport data from the third-party OpenF1 API (https://openf1.org) over a secure (HTTPS) connection. These requests are necessary for the App to function.
As with any internet request, the receiving service may observe standard technical information such as your device’s IP address. This is handled by OpenF1 under its own terms and privacy practices; we do not receive, log, or store any of this information. We have no control over OpenF1’s data practices and encourage you to review their terms.
The App contains no advertising and performs no tracking. We do not use any advertising identifier (such as Apple’s IDFA or the Android Advertising ID) and do not track you across apps or websites.
The App is free, and every feature is available at no cost. The App offers an optional tip to support development. Tips are entirely voluntary and unlock no features or content.
Any tip you choose to make is processed by the app store you downloaded the App from (the Apple App Store or Google Play) through its standard in-app purchase system. We never see or store your payment details. The store provides us only with anonymized, aggregated sales information (such as totals), which does not identify you. Your purchase is governed by that store’s terms and privacy policy.
The App does not collect any data from anyone, including children. It is a general-audience application and is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.
Because the App does not collect or store personal data on our servers (we operate none), there is no personal data for us to secure. All network communication with the OpenF1 API uses encrypted HTTPS connections.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
